In Ash we have been inspired by our book ‘Julien is a Mermaid’ to create a mermaid card with a simple slider and/or lever mechanism. This allowed our mermaids and fish to move!
First, we completed our own market research, analysing and comparing similar products of cards with sliders and levers. We then discussed what we liked about these products and what we thought could be improved. Next, on squared paper we sketched out our designs. Lastly, we gathered our materials, made, tested and reviewed our mechanisms!
